Our next dates are as below. New volunteers are always welcome! If you are interested in coming to an activity please contact one of the listed co-ordinators to say so, and to confirm details (there may be a last-minute change). We usually meet at the activity location at 10 a.m., but for any given date the co-ordinators will confirm the plan and may be able to advise on transport options. Ordnance Survey grid references are given below where possible. (Please note that we cannot accept attendance by unaccompanied U18s.)
- Sunday 7 June 2026: Tegg’s Nose Country Park (SJ949732). We’ll be out with the Cheshire East Rangers again, this time to do some bracken control at this beautiful site. If you would like to attend (or have any queries) then please let us know here. Co-ordinator: Elaine (07986 686526).
- Sunday 5 July 2026: Hollinwood Scout Camp (SJ729999). Further details to be confirmed, but we’ll be helping with ongoing improvements at this popular camp.
- Sunday 2 August 2026: Fallowfield Loop. We’ll be working with the Friends of the Fallowfield Loop on this popular walking and wheeling route, which follows the path of an old railway line. We’ll be helping to clear saplings and ivy from some of the grassland areas.
Please put these dates in your calendar and come along if you can! 🙂
General information
New members are always welcome!
All of SMCV’s one-day activities take place on Sundays. The sites at which we work are in and around Greater Manchester; you can arrange with the co-ordinators to make your own way to a site and meet us there, or we’ll try to arrange shared lifts when possible. If you want to come to an event please contact the co-ordinators to say so, and to confirm final arrangements. If you have questions about the group or the work we do, please contact us here or contact any of the co-ordinators listed on the programme. Please also contact us if you would like to be added to our e-mailing list for reminders of future activities.
